Lord I believe, help my unbelief

Jules —  September 22, 2005

I awoke early this morning in tears, thinking about Judy and the negative report we received yesterday about Judy’s cancer. (I’ve pasted yesterday’s comments in the comments section here. ) It’s so hard to believe for a miracle when the doctor’s report sounds like death. Karen and I spoke yesterday about faith and where to go from here when you receive such a negative report. I received this e-mail this morning, which couldn’t be more timely.

FAITH DETERMINES COOPERATION
There are many things that operate in My realm which you are unaware of in yours. To the exact degree you believe, is the exact degree that I reveal things to you. My dear one, your faith does matter. Your faith is very precious to Me. It is your faith which determines your level of cooperation with My ways. It is your faith which connects you to partner with Me in ushering My kingdom upon earth. Resist doubt. Resist unbelief. Resist wavering. Do not listen to the voices that say it cant be done. Yes it can, says Your God. Do you trust in the words of men, or in My Words? Hang on and cling to Me. I AM your Source. I AM your resource. I AM all you need. So let the faith in your God, Who has brought you thus far, complete that which was begun. Cooperate with Me and lets see our way through this together.

Heb 11:3 AMP
By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible.

  1. ***Please pray for Karen’s mom as she has surgery at 1:00 Wednesday afternoon. They have discovered a cancerous tumor on her colon and are going in for exploratory surgery and to possibly remove the cancer. She has a great deal of peace but she is quite miserable in her body. We are believing for complete healing. Please say a prayer for her. She is an exceptionally, wonderful woman.

  2. Karen called and the news isn’t good. I posted above about her mom’s surgery today. They found a lot of cancer. They took what they could and part of her colon. Judy has had a lot of peace about her health. She told Karen even if she got a bad report that she wasn’t going to give up hope. The Lord has given her this verse and she is believing God to heal her…. “I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done.” Psalm 118:17 Please pray for Judy. She’ll be talking with the surgeon tomorrow, once she becomes coherent. She needs the Lord’s wisdom to know what decisions to make about chemo, etc… Thank you for praying for someone you don’t even know. You would love her if you knew her….

  3. Thanks, Jules. I appreciate every prayer that is offered on our behalf. We really need them right now. Thanks so much.

    I love you

  4. Karen, I love your mom so much. We are praying for all of you. Tell Judy we love her and are supporting her in prayer

  5. Praying here, too.

  6. Yes, we will be praying also for Judy & family. I believe that our Lord who can make the universe & all things can heal as easy as a snap of his fingers, or thinking it into happening. I pray it will be his will to do so.

  7. Thanks for your prayers and encouragement!!!!!

  8. Thanks everyone soo much! The dr. told her this evening the bad report. She took it pretty well declaring to him that the Lord is still in control and that her life is in His hands.

That word was so timely, Jules. I printed it off for my Mom and read it to her this afternoon. She really appreciated it. She said to just “keep em coming”.

    Thank you all so much!

  9. What an amazing woman!!!! :indeed

  10. Awoke up in the middle if the night to read this about Karen’s mother. So sorry to hear about this tough news! Richard and I have know this kind woman with a warm smile for a long time, from the early days when Karen and Tom just got married. I too will be praying.

We have a friend with a terible disease that one in eight million people get. He has come near death three different times and because of prayer he is still alive.

Yes when we talk to our Abba Father (Romans 8:15)
He is there for us. We are His kids through Christ His son so we can come boldly to the throne room before our God and pray. :indeed

  11. We’re of course praying for her down here too.

  12. *****UPDATE on Judy, Karen’s mom!!!!

The oncologist visited Judy at the hospital yesterday. He wants to start her on chemo soon. She will do rounds of chemo (I think Karen said every three months, for two years). He feels like Judy has two years to live. He said the chemo shouldn’t make her feel real sick. I guess they are improving chemo and have drugs to help with the side effects. She is going to do chemo. We know negative reports and percentages don’t mean anything when God is involved. We are still praying for healing. Karen and I have a dear friend named Cindy. She is VERY in tune to the Lord. Karen e-mailed Cindy the verse God gave Judy. I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done.” Psalm 118:17. Cindy was shocked! She hadn’t told Karen but Cindy had been praying the same verse for Judy!!! God had laid it on her heart, too!!! It’s confirmation of what God has told Judy!!! God has neat things in store through this experience. It’s going to be hard but thankfully Judy and family are looking to Him for their strength and their futures!!
