the help

Several of James’ young, buff, tan employees have been roofing the shop roof each day. These are the images I’ve been seeing each morning from my front door. I giggle to myself and think I am having a Desperate Housewives moment!! More then once, I’ve walked into the office and they are all in there taking a break-shirtless, and I feel so silly when I giggle.

I think I need a pool and a gardener!

Let’s all play ‘Choose That Logo!’

A week or so ago I contacted Secret Agent Josephine and asked her to come up with a logo to go along with our new name. I told her I wanted something incorporating a lighthouse. Here is what she came up with.

Pick that logo!

I would love to get some input from those who frequent this blog. I have numbered everything so let the voting begin.

I will say that I am for sure going to use #3 for my letter head.

My other personal favorite is #4.

So, what do you think?

*UPDATE*

I contacted Josephine and this is what we came up with.

letter head

He sings over us!

Tonight, Mary and I went to the women’s fellowship meeting at our church. A woman named, Kerry, spoke about the ministry she shares with her husband as missionaries in Mexico. The theme of her sermonette was God’s love for us. She shared some wonderful scriptures that are too encouraging to keep to myself.

“The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

God is so very thrilled with us! He sings happy songs over us! How much would our outlook change if we could begin to truly grasp the fact that when God looks at us, he smiles with a great, big, toothy, grin! He delights in us!!! He isn’t up above, looking down on us, frowning, with his arms crossed. He is our Abba Daddy. We are his sons and daughters-princes and princesses!

She shared a verse that made me think of something Aunt Marilyn posted to Kandi about it being a time of rebuilding for her.

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness. I will build you up again and you will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your tambourines and go out to dance with the joyful.” Jeremiah 31:3

May we all allow Him to build us up so that we will go out dancing, proclaiming his name!

O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise, you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.
You hem me in-behind and before; you have laid your hand upown me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,”
even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.Psalm 139

He thinks about us all the time! I hope that I can become a more and more passionate person as God helps me to understand the depth of His passionate love for me.

I’m posting this from my bed!

James bought a little laptop computer for me to use, so here I am posing for another picture! Now I am like one of those yuppie moms with my portable computer!

This poem is totally unrelated but if you like children’s poems you’ll enjoy this one.

My Kingdom

Louisa M. Alcott

A little kingdom I possess
Where thoughts and feelings dwell,
And very hard I find the task
Of governing it well;
For passion tempts and troubles me,
A wayward will misleads,
And selfishness its shadow casts
On all my words and deeds.
How can I learn to rule myself,
To be the child I should,
Honest and brave, nor ever tire
Of trying to be good?
How can I keep a sunny soul
To shine along life’s way?
How can I tune my little heart
To sweetly sing all day?

Dear Father, help me with the love
That casteth out my fear,
Teach me to lean on thee, and feel
That thou art very near,
That no temptation is unseen,
No childish grief too small,
Since Thou, with patience infinite,
Doth soothe and comfort all.

I do not ask for any crown
But that which all may win,
Nor seek to conquer any world,
Exept the one within.
Be thou guide until I find,
Led by tender hand,
Thy happy kingdom in
myself
And dare to take command.
