i’m on a roll

Jessica, Kat and Lydia, just before lights out.

Last night I had one of those moments that totally grabbed my heart and caused me to stop and reflect. I couldn’t stop smiling as feelings of nostalgia ran through me. Lydia and Jessica had my bestest childhood friend’s daughter, Kathleen, over to spend the night. The three girls enjoy each other tremendously. I remember sleeping overnight at Elizabeth’s– sharing her full size bed. We’d stay up half the night talking and giggling. We dreamed together about how someday we would have daughters and they would stay up giggling and talking just like us. Last night it happened. Sometimes childhood dreams really do come true!!

“Friendships are what our dreams are made of. We hold onto each other with its binding love. We stand close to each other, hand in hand, showing each other we understand. Some friends may come and go, but you are the truest friend I know”

just a little post

I am sure you’ve noticed that I haven’t been posting lately. I took this pic today to help give you some indication as to why I haven’t been around. This isn’t a very good picture but I think you’ll get the point. This is a picture of my ceiling in my bedroom. Do you see those spatters? That is yogurt. Any questions?

there’s nothing sweeter than a happy girl

We took our sweet, playful, happy-go-lucky, Elaina Joy to get her ears pierced Friday evening. We had a delightful time!!!

She had this look on her face for at least three hours! She couldn’t wait to leave the house. She skipped around all afternoon in excited anticipation. Once we finally arrived at Claire’s and got her seated in the piercing chair, she just kept bouncing and smiling!

fireworks over america

As promised, I have a few more pics to show off. Our Independence Day celebration at our home was small, relaxing (if you don’t count the traffic) and fun. Check out my gallery to see all my favorites from the holiday.

Independence Day would be a very sad affair without my beloved pyro James. I have many smoky, loud July memories thanks to him!

Country roads take me home

Childhood bliss and country roads. The kids love Grandpa’s giant sand pile!

Monday evening was spent at my Dad’s place. It is so relaxing to take the kids to the country. There’s so much for them to do and I don’t have to worry about traffic–unless you count the go-carts and four wheelers!! Beth, Gerald, Emily and Elan joined us there for Daddy’s yummy grilling and James’ truck full of fireworks.

I’ll let the pics speak for themselves. Please check out my photo gallery to see the rest of my favorites.
