Eleven men

This morning I prepared breakfast for eleven men! I fixed as much food as I could prepare in an evening and a morning and they still ate every last bit! James took his employees to an important meeting today, so I treated them to a country breakfast before they left. I love feeding people.

It’s very hard to get a picture of these guys. This was the best I could do!

I am very thankful for God’s hand on our business and I am confident that He’s causing it to prosper– with the hard work of all these guys, of course! And the blood, sweat and tears of my hubby. God Bless all of these men.

Don’t tell them I put their picture on here!

I tried something new this morning that turned out delicious. I made a glaze to pour over fresh fruit. Yummy!

2 tablespoons caramel ice cream topping
2 tablespoons real maple syrup
1 tablespoon orange juice

Annual Autumn Hayride!

We’ve been going on hayrides with Mom and Larry each year since Jessica was 6 months old. I think the kids are growing up with fond memories of our rides down dusty gravel roads in the cool of Autumn. It’s always a yearly highlight. This year was chillier than usual but it wasn’t uncomfortable or miserable. We just bundled up and got cozy under blankets.

our 16th anniversary

James and I spent our anniversary weekend at a sweet, sweet old 1920′s farmhouse bed and breakfast situated in a valley on a dairy farm near wine country. We had the entire home and surrounding countryside all to ourselves!!! The lovely old house smelled, looked and felt just like a Grandma’s house. When we arrived and started to come down from the busyness of our lives we were very teary and weepy for the first 24 hours. This was just the respite our bodies, souls and spirits needed.

Lydia finally lost her two front teeth! She wanted her picture taken with her favorite stuffed cat Puff. Lydia LOVES cats. It’s really an obsession! She draws the cutest cats I’ve ever seen. I’ll have to scan one of her cat drawings and post it. Her favorite color is yellow. She has loved yellow since she was a baby. Everytime she’d see yellow she’d babble and squeal and point. Isn’t it amazing that we develop personal favorites at such a young age? She is still drawn to anything yellow. Lydia likes to journal and write and illustrate little books. I am very proud of Lydia. She is an amazing little girl with a big heart for people! (Although, her sisters say she is too bossy!)

Would anyone like a “special delivery”?

Who are you?

Elaina definitely believes she is Supergirl! She even has a Supergirl bedding set!

I think I need to get me a Wonder Woman shirt. I really liked Wonder Woman as a kid. I loved my glow in the dark Wonder Woman light switch cover and I am sure I had some Wonder Woman underoos. Do you remember underoos? Did you have some? “The underwear that’s fun to wear!”

Check out Amber’s blog. She posted the superhero test. Amber is a mother of three children under five and she’s preparing to run a marathon in January!! You go girl!!
