above the clouds. . .

. . .the sun is always shining!

James, due to financial obligations / responsibitilty, was unable to do his annual fireworks “extravaganza”. He showed such self control that he did not purchase a single firework!

I know that the Lord blessed James this Independence Day morning. Our pastor treated James to a plane ride! Pastor is an avid pilot. He flew James all over our metropolitan area! They did three touch-n-go landings at different airports. Touch-n-go means you land, skim the runway and take off again. Pilots get licensing credit for doing this. James said it was an absolute blast! I am so pleased he had such a thrill on his favorite holiday!

I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. He will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; new, universal, and more liberal laws will begin to establish themselves around and within him; or the old laws be expanded, and interpreted in his favor in a more liberal sense, and he will live with the license of a higher order of beings. . . . If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them. ~Henry David Thoreau

  1. I want to say a special “THANK YOU” to all who have served in our armed forces.

I am thankful for all my freedoms!

  2. How cool is James pastor to take James for a ride.
Also the freedom to do so.

I have flown in a small plane once. It was a really wonderful experience to see the patchwork below. I didn’t realize at the time that everything was so squared off. What a wonderful pastor to give James this gift.

  4. I was in a small plane from Phoenix to Lake Havasu once and it was so neat. I like them better for viewing than the big ones. You could see the different depths of water in the Colorado river. SSSSSOOOOOOOO cool.

  5. What a great start to a great day!! I am excited James got to do something so fun on his favorite day.

    See ya soon!

  6. How cool!
