girl power

How’s this for real girl power!! This is my sister-in-law, Christie, James’ ‘little’ sister. She and her husband, David, live in Utah with their two boys, Andrew and Cameron. They are both members of the United States Air Force. David is stationed in the middle east, at this time. These pictures were taken this week! Gee, I feel like a weinie!! I can’t imagine carrying around a M16! Go girl!!!!

  1. God bless both of you and thank you for what you do for our country! I really appreciate it!

  2. Christie, how the heck are you doing? I saw your post over at Jimmy’s House. I second Carl’s thank you and appreciation!

  3. I’m so proud of my sis. We all love you!

  4. I must say a BIG THANKYOU to the two of you for helping to protect our COUNTRY. Maybe some day we will meet. If you were at Jessicas Adoption pool party then we did meet. Aunt Tootsie

  5. Christie –

So good to see your picture! Wow! You go girl!

I greatly admire your spunk. You are doing stuff I could never do and probably never want to do.

God bless you and David! It’s been a long time. How are you?

  6. Christie has to do those hard ‘man’ pushups where you put your hands together and form a triangle with your thumbs and index fingers and touch your nose to the floor. I haven’t tried but I am sure I could not do one! How many can you do at a time Christie?

  7. Wow, Christie could kick my butt! But then, I think Christie could always kick my butt. 😉

  8. Well, I just dropped down and gave myself only 23 triangle pushups but it has been two weeks since working out. I can usually do 35 man pushups in 1min (that is requirement for testing once a year). I actually just started really getting in shape and trying to overcome my weakest ability and that is running. Always hated it and the Air Force does not do it as often as the Marines or Army.
I have been doing well to answer many. Life has been more than busy since David ditched me for the giant sand box. hehe
Since David won’t know to come here and read this I can conceal my biggest secret from him to you all wonderful people. I have planned a romantic getaway a week after he returns in May. Our day will start off with me blind folding him and driving him to a small airport that offers Tandom Jumps at a decent price. He thinks I will NEVER do this since I am terrified of heights. While we are enjoying our 30 min scenic flight, I will give him a new wedding band that I bought for him that is made of 14K white gold and inscribed on the inside is “Until death do us part”. Then we will take the plunge of a life time…least I hope I have more life after the plunge. Then when we safely land I am taking him to Salt Lake City for the night and having dinnger with friends at a place called The Melting Pot (fondu place) and then hotel with jetted hot tubs. I think he will be pleased although I think I will need to take a shower after peeing on myself from the jump. To be honest I am excited about it and looking forward to getting over my fear of heights. Anyway, I will send Julie some pictures of David to post of him in Iraq. Now be warned, David likes to get his picture taken but he ALWAYS feels the need to pose dramatically, which always brings smiles and laughter to me. So enjoy his humor as I do….

  9. 35 pushups in one minute! I am very impressed!! *big smile*

Very cool surprise. Wow, you guys make James and I sound really boring.

    I would definitely pee myself!!

I’d love to post some pics of David. The goofier the better!!

  10. Just sent them but I think my outbox is in shock. Think I will stop it and send them seperatly.

  11. It would take me 20 minutes to do 35 pushups.

  12. I can do better then that! I can do 53(acording to my age)men’s push ups with one hand tied behind my back in about one minute.
    Sure I can??!!

  13. Hehe!!

I’m sure if I tried to do that I’d…

    RIP MY PANTS!!!

  14. Glad you are doing so well, Christie! I am sure having David so far away is hard.

The Getaway sounds awesome!! He will love it.

I would never jump out of a plane for my husband, you’re a better woman than I!
