Grandma and the Aunts!

Jules —  May 31, 2005

My family recently had their very own Big Fat Greek Wedding, thanks to my cousin’s new wife and family! Unfortunately, I was unable to go, but mom was happy to show off the pics! I managed to get three from her to scan!

Aunt Marilyn, Mom, Aunt Linda, Aunt Kathryn (groom’s mother!) and Aunt Kelli. Aunt Marlis, the oldest sister, was unable to make it. Grandma is front and center.

Wow, Grandma has six daughters! I thought four was a lot!

As you can tell, Aunt Marlis (AKA, Tootsie), you were missed!

Aunt Marilyn’s claim to fame!!! Posing for shots while singing on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry!

“Family faces are magic mirrors looking at people who belong to us, we see the past, present, and future.” Gail Lumet Buckley

  1. My mom, the famous Opry singer!!! I’m so proud!

  2. As well you should be!!! lol

  3. We sure had a lot of fun in Nashville, and at the wedding. To bad you all missed my opening day at the Opry. Ha! Ha. We might would have sang at Tooties too, but someone already had the stage. Marlis, we had to take a pic. at Tootsies so you could be with us at least in Name. Oh! by the way Larry does a great Minnie Pearl, HOWDEE!

  4. What a good time you all must of had. Yes, I wish I had been there. I’m going to be in M. the 8th of June, taking my daughter and Grandson to see Grandma. Ive got to see my MOM. Can’t wait.

  5. Can’t wait to see all of you, Marlis!! And Gma Vera must be very excited! She misses her girls and the rest of the grandchildren that she doesn’t get to see much.

  6. You all be sure to come out here, too. Ian will love going to the river with my boys. Haven’t met a boy yet that doesn’t love throwing rocks in the river (the big “boys” too–the men are always teaching their boys how to skip the rocks. That’s still throwing rocks in the river–just with STYLE!) grin

You can see how excited I am about your visit! I had to post twice in 5 minutes!!!

  7. I always wanted to go to “Tootsie’s Lounge” and thanks to my family, I feel as I have. I sometimes wish that the world were not so big, when you get older it is so hard to keep up with the one thing you can always claim as mine, your “FAMILY”. Aunt Tootsie

  8. Hey, at least you won’t have to take Ian to a park with Kelli’s pool and Deb’s river. Glad Kandi gets to go with you. They do have a water park in town in case you want to go. Oh, and the boys have a fort they built. Glad you enjoyed Tootsies, you’d be suprised at how small it is.

  9. My friend Karen commented on how much she enjoys reading my Aunts comments!!

  10. We’ve learned you have some good friends, I love to see their comments, I feel maybe I have some new friends. At least I like to think it. Maybe we can meet them or some anyway this weekend, maybe a coffee shop or some time at our weekend pool, yeh! How does that sound Punkie, Popcorn (Nita) and Kandi. ????????

  11. Deb, by the way, you can’t go see the T. clan without a trip to the creek. You should know better than that. Wear them kids down so we ole folgies can visit. I can’t wait. Aunt Tootsie

  12. Julie, I forgot about the T. and M, sorry. I’ll watch my self even closer.

  13. No big deal at all. Don’t worry about it. I just have decided to be very cautious about privacy since we are on the net and we have kids.

It’s unfortunate that parents have to be so cautious.

  14. I’m happy to report that my painting of the lighthouse and palm trees took the “Gold Circle” of the Month painting tonight at our Installation of Officers Dinner, and I got special recognition for my past two yrs as Secretary. You can only serve two years. I painted all the cards for sickness, health and sympathy for the year and sent out many HUG cards. They made me proud tonight of what I call a hobby. Thanks for letting me brag.

  15. I think I speak for everyone when I say everyone loves your cards. I am glad you were recognized. You deserve it. Congrats on the Gold Circle honor.

  16. Jules, Melissa and I had a great time with your fam and friends tonight. Thanks so much for opening your home. I loved playing with the girls. They’re growing so fast!

Let’s do this again soon! The annual bloggers’ party. :-)

  17. Congratulations Marlis on your award, you deserve it. Sounds like you are a hard worker for the club. Bet they will miss you being sec. In answer to the ??? above about Julies friends, I up for what ever the rest want to do. I’m glad Julie has such nice friends.

  18. Hey, Rob. We had a great night. Annually doesn’t sound often enough!

  19. I attended two of Julie’s WordPress cersuos over past six months. Training received was top class, with small classes and personal attention. A particular feature for me was the tuition follow up. As my skills developed into basic web design, Julie was very helpful in giving guidance and sorting out snags. Highly recommended as tutor! via Attended our and
