celebrating mom d!

Jules —  December 7, 2005

Yesterday, was my mom-in-law Janet’s birthday! I know I’m a day late, but this just helps the birthday stretch and last longer!

Janet and Richard, sporting their matching bibs, pose with Jessica at Grandparents’ Day, a couple of weeks ago.

I don’t have mother-in-law horror stories. Janet is so giving and encouraging. She often cheers me on, and has been a big support in my decision to be a stay-at-home mom. When I feel down, she encourages me about how important my role is. There are two kinds of people — balcony people and basement people. One cheers you on from the balcony, excitedly clapping for you, and the other’s negative words and attititude drag you down. (Guess where I learned this from?) Mom D is definitely a balcony person. She has taught Sunday School for years and is always talking about how much she tries to encourage the young people with her bible teaching, wisdom and practical advice.

Happy Birthday week, Janet!!!!

  4. Julie, Iam sooo touched!!! :cry You and James brought my birthday gift to our Alco shop just before Louise and left to go hardware a home in Grain Valley. Of course you both gave me the perpect gift, yourselves going out out of the way to bring a present and a special card. Of course I shed tears to the point where I couldn’t hardly see to read the card. πŸ˜‰
Yes I’am going to enjoy the rest of the week to enjoy my birthday.
Each year I ask our Heavenly Father for a gift from Him. It’s SNOW. Yes I love the snow.
Julie you are so kind for your gracious words about me. Love you, :love

  5. I did bring the candles home which not even lighting them makes the kitchen smell good. As you know I could not decide if I should leave them at the office or bring them home. Glad for the choice I made. πŸ˜€

  6. Thanks Karen!!!

  7. Well, I don’t feel so bad about being a day late with my post, if God himself was a day late with your gift! LOL!!!

  8. Janet, I’m glad Julie got a balcony person for a Mom-in-law. I hope I am a balcony aunt, because I truly believe in stay at home moms or dads if it is possible, and I realize it is not always possible, expecially these days when it sometimes takes two paychecks to get by. I was glad I could at least til the girls were in Jr. Hi. & High school.

  9. Happy birthday, Janet! Jules is right; you are an encourager! I have great memories of you encouraging me in highschool (volleyball and more).

Hey, how much snow did you ask for? πŸ˜‰

I remember doing hardware install for Alco back in the day. Man, that was fun. I learned some neat tricks too on making cabinet doors close flush. Hehe!
