i’m on a roll

Jessica, Kat and Lydia, just before lights out.

Last night I had one of those moments that totally grabbed my heart and caused me to stop and reflect. I couldn’t stop smiling as feelings of nostalgia ran through me. Lydia and Jessica had my bestest childhood friend’s daughter, Kathleen, over to spend the night. The three girls enjoy each other tremendously. I remember sleeping overnight at Elizabeth’s– sharing her full size bed. We’d stay up half the night talking and giggling. We dreamed together about how someday we would have daughters and they would stay up giggling and talking just like us. Last night it happened. Sometimes childhood dreams really do come true!!

“Friendships are what our dreams are made of. We hold onto each other with its binding love. We stand close to each other, hand in hand, showing each other we understand. Some friends may come and go, but you are the truest friend I know”

  1. How nice. remembering moments of the past are so meaningful. But remembering moments and they come true is priceless. Sometimes I think, if I could’nt remember the good ole days, I’d go crazy.

  3. I wish they would make queen size Kitty quilts.

  4. Very cute. Its all really fun until they are about 12 and they invite friends over and are really loud all night and you can’t sleep.

  5. That is precious, Im thankful I still have a very close childhood friend,Gayle, she’s wonderful. The girls are so sweet. Please cont. to pray for Joe’s Mom, she’s in St. Thomas Hosp. in Nash. later lovey’s, love you all.

  6. Kandi I have to resist buying up all the Hello Kitty stuff for Lydia, especially the clothes. I bet the biggest kitty comforter they make is full size.

I still think I will enjoy it Carl. I have such great memories of overnights. I think I will get to re-live those times through my girls.

  7. What a precious memory! It is neat when we see things we dreamed about as a child come to pass. I think when we dream as children we don’t actually think we will be old enough to see it come to pass. Then we turn around and we are old enough to have kids of our own and it makes it “taste” that much sweeter.

Oh taste and see that the Lord is good!

  8. I’ve been thinking about ya. How was your trip? I hope it was fun. I hope it’s not too painful to come back to the busyness that is your life. I haven’t called cuz I know you just got back and are surely busy getting ready for the wedding. Call me when it’s convenient for you. Love ya.

  9. They look like they are having fun!

  10. Too cute for words! :indeed

  11. I always dreamed of fishing with my daughter, and of course we used to do just that out at Lemens farm. I remember the first fish Kandi ever caught was at gmpa Linfords, she just put the pole over her shoulder, turned around and walked away and had a big ole fish. That was fun. I bought Ians first pole and got pics with his first fish. Thats the dreams of a tomboy and a country wife. Punky and I used to fish together and catch BIG ole frogs for mama to cook for supper.Yum Yum Yum.

  12. Don’t get me wrong, we caught the frogs by hand at night. :p Not on a pole :eek :eek

  13. Whewwww :eek This weather reminds me of the 50’s, it was so hot that summer. I remember putting trays of ice cubes in the windows, hoping for a breeze to blow over Punky and my head so it would be cooler for sleeping.

We’ve came a long ways baby: air conditioners.

  14. How did you kill the frogs? I guess that’s morbid curiosity.

  15. We did’nt, we put them in a gunny sack and took them to daddy. But you cut their heads off and skin and de— them. The legs is what you keep and eat. They are very good. Punky and I liked watching mama cook them, they move around in the skillet when first frying them. Life is interesting when you eat from the land.

  16. Our girls, so precious!! Jule, I am so glad that I got to spend time with you, James, and your beautiful girls the last two days. You guys truly bless me, I pray that God will always keep us as edifiers to one another!! What you are doing in your home for your family and for those you invite into your home is such a blessing and such a gift. I hope that you will realize that daily!

  17. Thanks, Liz. :love
