impromptu

Since becoming parents, adult activities must be planned out well in advance. Well, today the heavens parted and a miracle occured. We were able to have an impromptu lunch date with Tom and Karen!!! No kiddos!!! Baby Evely, Tom and Karen’s eight month old, was a welcomed addition, but she’s not a kid! We used to hang out with Tom and Karen ALL the time and we have a 13 year history as friends. We share some very funny stories from our newly married days. We don’t get together as often now as we are very busy families. Between our two broods there are 7 kiddos who really enjoy getting together and playing. We were all married for a number of years before having kids. Now look at how blessed we are!!!

I really like black and white photos. I’ve heard they can really help cover imperfections. I decided to try it out on Tom and see if it could help.

As you can see, some work needs to be done. Doesn’t he have a lovely wife?

Wow, I think there’s something to this!

Just like old times!!!

  1. That trip to the dentist was worth every penny.

  2. WOW!!!!If I had only known the miracles of B & W, I’m having all my pics taken that way from now on. Two really nice looking couples. Glad you were able to get together for a couples date.

  3. It’s nice to be with friends. This afternoon I spent several hours picking up Hickory nuts w/two friends of mine. The one has a farm not far away and it was such a nice day to be out in the sunshine. Now I have all these nuts to pick out, Gil said he would crack them for me. He hasn’t seen how many I brought home yet. Oh My!!!

Speaking of friends, I recieved an email this week from a friend I went to school with over 40 years ago. We lost contact w/each other shortly after we graduated. I’m hoping we can meet up again some day. She lives in Ark. now.

  4. Mine and Tommys best friends moved back to West Virginia and before Tommy died they divorced. She is the best friend (acting stupid with kind) I ever had. She came back and stayed a week with me after Tommy died and the family all left. We stayed down at the lake with my sister in law. She really helped me, we cried alot and remembered alot. I went out there about 6 or 7 years ago. I’d like to see her again one of the days to laugh and be stupid. Maybe she will come here. But friends are fun. 😉 She came here about 5 years ago. I’m glad you have some really cool friends.

  5. Friends like that are indispensable. Hold tight to yours. :-)

  6. Not quite like old times…I still see a kid stuck in there! I prefer the color picture of Tom…captures his essence much better. 😉

On an unrelated note, Jeff gave me that bike yesterday and I’ll be bringing it over this afternoon! 😀

  7. You crazy kids! Tom, black and white pix are a must for you, my friend. You and Karen look great!

I am glad you all had fun.
