my sinuses are cleaned out. . .

We spent the night at a wonderful lodge with a delightful indoor waterpark. I honestly cannot think of another place that would be more fun to spend time with my family. I can’t wait to go back. It’s close to our home, so there’s no long drive. It’s so easy and FUN!

We didn’t take very many pics. We were too busy playing!

There’s this awesome fort and at the top are water slides. Everywhere you go on this fort there’s water pouring down on you like a soaker thundershower. It even sounds like heavy rain. I have had water violently squirted up my nose from every direction!! Climbing net ropes isn’t nearly as easy as it once was, especially while being sprayed with water. Every 3 minutes there’s a huge bucket that dumps thousands of gallons of water on the fort and those anxiously waiting to get nailed below.

The fort is my favorite part, but there are also mega large water slides that the girls and I delighted in. Lydia and Jessica like going down together on the two seater rafts. It was fun watching them haul the big raft together up several stories of stairs.

James and I took turns watching Anjelia in the pee-pee pool. I had a great time hanging out with her, soaking in the warm bath temperature water. There’s lots of fun things for the babies and toddlers. There was also a great hot tub we could all hang out together in. James and I took turns seeking the sanctuary of the ‘adult only’ hot tub!!!

Unfortunately, Anjelia and Elaina totally tired out by mid-afternoon and were crying to go home! They could barely walk. We were all exhausted from two days of play, so we headed home several hours before I would’ve liked to. I was a little sad heading back, but I know there are many more fun times ahead for our family!

In every real man a child is hidden that wants to play.” Friedrich Nietzsche

Kandi, here’s a ((((HUG)))). :flowers That’s the best I can do for now from 500 miles away, sweet cousin.

Well, he is younger. 8 years younger.
Which really turned me off before I ever met him.
It was a blind date. I did not know what he looked like. he did not know what I looked like.
He is not my type. We were nervous.
But he complained about the prices on the menu.
He complained about his meal and kept telling the server all the problems with his meal.
right after we were served “he asked me” “What time do you think Sam’s closes because I need to get a tub of butter”…. (give me a break) Who would ask that on a first date?
Then at the end he said something funny and I was being silly then he said “Well if we ever go out again I can introduce you as my mom”
    That did it right there.
(this guy was about 5’4″ weighed about 290) (looked like he was 50) and he had the nerve to say that…. He may have been joking but after the butter comment I was through….
He was a short version of Frazier Crane on Frazier but balder and a lot bigger. He had a big head….
So all the college girls at Adventure Club said I looked sexy……. So after him not even saying how nice I looked or anything I am through…..
I EVEN TOLD HIM HOW NICE HE LOOKED WHEN WE FIRST MET…….. boy these younger guys have a lot of nerve…….. THEY D0NT WANT TO PISS OFF A 42 YEAR OLD THAT HAS WENT THROUGH MENOPAUSE…. HE BETTER WATCH HIS STEP AND LEARN HOW TO GREET A WOMAN AND SHOW HER SOME RESPECT AND LET HER KNOW HOW NICE SHE LOOKS…..
I EVEN BOUGHT A NEW OUTFIT AND UNDERGARMENTS TO FEEL A LITTLE SEXY EVEN THOUGH I WAS NOT THINKING ABOUT “YOU KNOW” I PAID FOR A BABYSITTER, I THEN HAD TO “BUY” MY MEAL…………..
NO NO NO………NEVER AGAIN. IT IS GOING TO TAKE A HELL OF A GUY TO GET ME TO GO OUT ON A DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead :puke :eek :evil :evil

    Ok, I am calm now……..
Sorry Jules I am mad at TODAYS MEN…
    Kandis

Oh dear, oh my!!!! I need to pray harder for James. Please don’t let anything happen to James. Take me first!!!!!

Kandi, there are good men out there!! There’s gotta be. Hang in there! This was just one of many.

  4. Marlis February 23, 2006 at 3:28 pm #

Whewwwwwwww!!!!!!!am I glad she let go on us, that poor guy. Hee Hee :rotfl Well I do know he has contacted her and said some nice things to her today, but I’m stepping out and letting my daughter handle this, which I think she can :evil most assurradly. Glad it was him and not me. :eek

  5. Aunt Marilyn February 23, 2006 at 3:35 pm #

    Kandi, God has the right guy for you somewhere. Sounds like an awful date. Gil was a blind date, but it worked out GREAT. Don’t be in a hurry, but I know it is nice to get out once in a while. Hold off on those blind dates. {{{{ HUGS }}}}
from me to. Just don’t let that date get you down on yourself. ;)

  6. Jules February 23, 2006 at 3:41 pm #

I agree. This is no reflection on you. I think you’re so much fun. You’ve got a great smile and giggle. I am sure you looked great on your date, too. Love ya!

Maybe a night out with the girls is in order!

  7. Marlis February 23, 2006 at 3:50 pm #

I’m going to tell. He emailed her and told her she looked VERY NICE and had a good time and wanted to see her again. Now it’s up to her. I know, I’m a tattle tale. Well he had’nt told her when she wrote this.

  8. kandis February 23, 2006 at 3:54 pm #

I think Ian is a great date!
We have so much fun together out on the town.
    I’ll just stick with the mature 8 year old’s for a while….
I am trying out a new church and they have singles night one night a month. It is biblically based so maybe this will give me an opportunity to get out sometimes.
I might join a large group in town (parents without partners) but I hear there are a lot of cheesy guys there. I cant deal with cheesy guys….
Jules, you, Debbie, Aunt Marilyn, Aunt Kathy, Aunt Kelly, Aunt Linda all have wonderful husbands….
    Love,
    Kandis

Chris to, don’t forget Chris. Right Trish? Kandi knows what she needs, but it was nice he finally told her she looked nice. WE ALL NEED THAT. :D

  10. Trish February 23, 2006 at 6:47 pm #

I think Chris is wonderful. I was actually out on a date when Chris and I met. I was sitting at Steak and Shake with this guy that was one of Chris’ friends, Chris walked up sat down beside me and I laughed so much with him. So we started dating, the other guy didn’t fight for me, so guess he was a loser! So you just never know when it’s gonna happen! :love

  11. Aunt Marilyn February 23, 2006 at 6:59 pm #

I was going to add Chris but Marlis beat me to it. Mr. Mom. He’s one of the goodens. YES!!!!

  12. Jules February 23, 2006 at 7:14 pm #

Karen said they had a segment on Good Morning America this morning that was awful. The guest was saying intelligent educated women that are stay at home moms are wasting there lives. It was an attack on my profession. I thought of all the wonderful women I know who stay at home. I also thought of Chris. I think it’s so neat that he stays at home to raise the kiddos. I am proud of our profession!!

Kandi, I hope you like this new church. I think having a good church to build friendships in is a wonderful support. Keep us posted!

  13. Aunt Linda February 23, 2006 at 7:27 pm #

Hi guys, I had a date tonight with Butch. We went for pizza, went to an auction and then I went to Hobby Lobby. Butch and I have been married 35 years this year. He’s my best friend too, I think I’ll keep him. Heather has dated some guys, six or seven, all losers. I hope theres someone for her.

  14. karen February 23, 2006 at 7:58 pm #

Ohhhhh, Kandi! That date was quite the groaner! I’m sorry. You are so sweet and fun, don’t take his comments to heart!

Jules, I agree with you. I hope I don’t ever find myself in the dating scene again. It looks way too hard. I think Kandi is sooo brave for even going on a blind date.

  15. Kelli February 23, 2006 at 9:45 pm #

Well, so much has been happening while I was out!
Kandis was brave! I think it would be adventurous to go on a blind date. Don’t give up. I have always enjoyed being a part of a church family.Such a source of strength and love. You just keep living life and make each day the best you can and look to Jesus. He’s our source of everything. “Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world”, is what He said I believe!Kathryn, that movie moved to a different place, I got to find it.

  16. Debbie February 23, 2006 at 11:28 pm #

WOW-and I thought dating was hard in high school! At least then, when the guys acted stupid…it was because they REALLY were still young and stupid. I’ve never dated as an adult; Steve and I’ve been together since I was 16 so I feel like we’ve grown up together (and matured, at least a little! Enough to know that I wasn’t as grown up at 16 as I thought I was.)

Kandis, I’m sorry this first venture back into the dating world went so badly…but there’s better guys out there, and I just know the right one for you will come along when it’s the right time. I, too, think you were brave to go on a blind date–it was HIS loss, not yours.

(but on the flip side, I gotta warn you…keep an open mind about first impressions. Steve was my diamond-in-the-rough that didn’t make the best first impression. SHHHH…y’all didn’t hear me say that!) :o ops

  17. Aunt Marilyn February 24, 2006 at 11:33 am #

Just don’t forget to keep God in the equation. Look to him for your guide. If something don’t feel right it may be God trying to guide you, Kandi. We hope for you the best. Love you.

Steve’s a shiny, polished diamond now.

  18. kandis February 24, 2006 at 2:17 pm #

Oh Trish….. I am so sorry for not including Chris. He is a great DAD! Sorry Chris!!!
I have heard wonderful things about him…
Trish, we need to catch up, the last time we were together I was constanly fighting a 3 year old clinging to my hip and much activity so I did not visit with you and Chris. We must catch up.
    Love,
    Kandis

  19. Ciera February 24, 2006 at 3:40 pm #

  21. kathryn February 24, 2006 at 7:54 pm #

Kandis, Im so sorry to hear your date was’nt what we all hoped for, like Deb said it’s just the first one ;) We’ll keep praying for you. I do have to say the first time Joe and I went out, he was on a date with another girl, she was definetly not worthy of him , thats when I stepped in, we were riding around with another couple, I was solo,we took her home first and I was told to get in the back with Joe, we never looked back, he was mine, my lovey man. THE END.You will find someone, just relax, Iknow thats easier said than done. :flowers love you sweety petty later . ;)

  22. Marlis February 24, 2006 at 8:19 pm #

I had a Diamond and now he shines in the sky. When a few years later I started to date at the urgence of my daughter and my husbands family, I was never so terrified in all my life. My first date took me to a dance and I cried all night, because every song reminded me of Tommy. That poor guy, now I can look back and think how awful I made him feel. I did’nt want to date again for a long time. Oh he was very nice and treated me well and paid for my meals and the dance. Then my brother in law introduced me too what turned out to be my second husband. But I was so terrified to date again. After 35 years, It was like I’d never dated before. :eek

  23. Aunt Marilyn February 24, 2006 at 9:53 pm #

I enjoy hearing these “How we met stories.” I plan to keep my guy as healthy as I can for a looooong time. He’s the only one I want. :love

  24. kathryn February 24, 2006 at 10:15 pm #

O.K. Kandis, I have talked to you many times now ,why won’t you say at least Hi to your old obviously boring Aunt Kathryn ? :cry Linda, I enjoyed are chat last night on the phone. I was really tired, I had a sweet little ol lady go bad on me about 4:30 yesterday and we had to do some hussleing to get her stablized and shipped to Nashville ,so I was wiped out. Well Im glad to report that Joe was able to work every day this week, he is really tired and wore out though :( It will take a while to get his strengh built back up, God love him. :king . I have to go take a shower now ,later you all. :moon

  25. Marlis February 24, 2006 at 10:22 pm #

Kandi uses the computer at work and is a very busy girl. She does’nt get to get on just any time. When she gets one in at home it will be easier for her. Sorry Kathy. She’s not ignoring anyone on purpose. She has her own office at the hospital and handles her own appointments and meeting with patients.

  26. Marlis February 24, 2006 at 10:26 pm #

Punkie, my DIAMOND in the sky was the only one I wanted too, but it don’t always work the way you want. I was’nt ready to live the rest of my life alone, but scared to death to date. Thank goodness they found me, I don’t think I could have went looking. I’d rather have met a terrorist then date. Both are horrible at 55 yrs of age. :cry

I haven’t been walking or dancing for a long time as I am trying to get rid of a bone spur in my heal. I wear a big ole boot brace most of the time. It is supposed to help, even have to wear it to bed. We will be glad when Kandi gets on line. Hey to my 2 sweeties in Tn & Md. LOVE YA.

We did our exercising…drank lots of water…ate chicken and salad for supper…then topped it all off with peaches (oh yeah, I think there was some pound cake and ice cream mixed in with those peaches. Mmmmmmm good.) Uh, I guess we’ll be exercising again tomorrow to work off that Blue Bell ice cream! And maybe next time we can get Aunt Kathryn to stay in and finish the whole exercise CD with us instead of blogging! :disgust She’s blog-addicted, I tell ya!

  34. Marlis February 26, 2006 at 9:15 am #

ATTENTION HOUSEKEEPERS: Are you sick and tired of cleaning those large closet mirrors or sliding glass doors, only for them to be streaked and cloudy looking after breaking your back to clean them.
    :eek :cry

Have no fear, “ARMOR ALL” is near. Go to your Walmart (for my stocks) auto dept or grocerie cleaning supply area for window cleaners, pick up a bottle of “Armor All: AUTO GLASS CLEANER!!!!!!!
yOU WILL NEVER BUY “windox” AGAIN. My large closet mirrors are beautiful. It even takes less cleaner and less work. Let me know what you think. :angel

  35. Debbie February 26, 2006 at 9:55 pm #

Good Morning Sis Kathy, love ya. Hope you get to feeling better. I had to retire because I was afraid I would really over do my back and regret it, so Gil said I had better give it up now. That was in 2000. I am thankful. Love ya all.

  42. Jules February 28, 2006 at 9:21 am #

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I am feeling better. I am still battling a sinus headache but my achiness seems to have gone away. No one else in my family has gotten down, even though they ate after me!! I don’t know why I get those achy spells.

Angela, sorry to hear about your flop of a date too. When you finally meet ‘the one’ he will be so awesome that the wait will have been worth it. Really, I believe that!

Aunt Kathryn, I would love to put Dimitri’s picture up on the blog. Just e-mail it to me!

  43. kandis February 28, 2006 at 10:14 am #

    Hi Aunt Kathryn:
I have not been ingnoring you. I cant wait to get a computer at home.
No, I think I will just enjoy Ian for a long time before I try to go out again. Ian does not need to have me seeing some guy right now in his early school years.
The divorce has been really hard on Ian. He misses his dad.
Someday I will find Mr. RIGHT. I dont think there are any out there anyway.
    Love,
    kandis

  50. kandis February 28, 2006 at 4:43 pm #

Hey!!!!!!!!! Im 100 whoo whoo hee hee…
    I could not resist.
Jules, I suffer from sinus infections, at least 3 a year. Since I have been on allergy shots they have been much better. I hardly have had a sinus infection in the last 2 years.
The trees are bad here and at least 2 to 3 days after swimming in a pool I would get really bad sinus infections.
    Watch out for pools…….
    Kandis
HI AUNT KATHY :moon :moon :moon :moon
