Yesterday, Lydia celebrated her eleventh birthday! In just one year she’ll move up to the youth group at church! Yikes! Lydia is a very thoughtful, generous young girl. She can be surprisingly selfless for a kid her age.

Lydia’s favorite color is green.

Lydia had a slumber party Friday night. Four of her closest girlfriends joined her to celebrate. We all had a great time. Lydia asked her Daddy to grill for her party. James did a great job cooking up yummy hamburgers and hot dogs and Lydia’s favorite, grilled asparagus. We also served Slim Jims and chocoate animal crackers – Lydia’s favorite snacks!

Anjelia spent an entire day making “confetti” for Lydia’s party. Hundreds of cut up pieces of construction paper were strung all over the house. Anjelia was VERY proud of her contribution!

Lydia received a digital camera! Her life will be well documented now!

She was thrilled to get David Archuleta’s cd! She was heartbroken when he lost to David Cook. The family was divided over that one!

Daddy likes to wait until all the presents are opened. He then gets out his hero cape and says something like, “Come here and see what’s in this pocket!” He then pulls out some coveted item that’s supreme above all others. In this case, it was a Sly Cooper 3 game! It doesn’t matter how hard I work to plan a party, James will walk in and instantly become the hero. I guess that’s how it should be. What little girl doesn’t want her daddy to be her hero?!

We went to see Hananah Montana, The Movie. It was soooooo much better than I expected. James and I actually loved it! It’s about the importance of family and not forgetting where you came from. Chase your dreams, while being proud of your roots! Life is about enjoying the climb! Grandma was one of the main characters! Come on all you people and your negative reviews, let’s just thank God there’s wholesome family entertainment out there.

We went to dinner at Red Robin. We had a fabulous time embarrassing Lydia with singing and mascotts.

The balloon guy was lots of fun!

Lydia had been waiting and waiting to use birthday money to go to the mall and get a Fred shirt. This one says, “Brushing My Teeth Tickles”. As soon as we left the movie, we went to the mall to pick it up so she could wear it to dinner!

Jessica’s party table.

Mom took Jessica birthday shopping Saturday. She picked out the newest Webkinz, a guinea pig!!!! Webkinz are really hot items around our house. It doesn’t get better for Jessica than owning her own Webkinz guinea pig! If you want one you have to go to Justice. It’s an exclusive item there.

Thursday I went on a school field trip with Elaina’s class. She didn’t let go of my hand for literally hours. It was so fun to ride on a bus with her and spend her school day with her. I’ve been able to enjoy special times with all my girls over the past couple of weeks. I love my family. This life is all about our relationships with one another. I am very blessed.

Behold, children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them;
They will not be ashamed
When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

Psalm 127: 3-5

Applause! Applause! loved your blog and pictures. The Lord really blessed those girls by giving you two for their parents and I can tell you know they are a blessing to you. Looks like so much fun. Thank God for family films. Wonderful decorations.

  2. WOW What cool parents. Your children are blessed to have you and you them. Thanks for sharing their birthdays with us. Really blessed memories they will have.

I’ve seen the movie advertised, but not seen it. Sounds great.

    Love all the decorations.

    Cousing Kandis

I’ve never been to a Red Robin, but I’ve tasted their hamburger flavoring and it is delicious. Looks like a blast. I thought it was just a hamb joint but apparently it is much more.

  5. Our Wal-mart has the best clearance prices around. I was so tickled when I found an inexpensive digital camera for 60 percent off! Lydia took 80 pictures in like 12 hours! Last night Jessica came out of the bedroom mad because while she was trying to go to sleep, Lydia was leaning down from the top bunk taking video of her! Lydia took pics all day at school. Her teacher and her school mates, books, the gym walls – you name it!

  6. Red Robin is a burger joint. They have lots of various burgers to choose from. Their fries and especially onion rings are delicious. We went on Monday night. Kids eat free Monday evenings. Our whole family can eat for like 20 bucks! Because it’s “kids eat free night” they have the mascott out and the balloon guy there. I’d rather go on Monday’s than at any other time. Everything’s more fun when it’s kid focused!

  7. When we go out to eat we have to work hard to keep it affordable. At O’Charley’s kids eat free all the time. Two kids per adult! If kids don’t eat free we usually all just order water. The bummer is that Lydia is eleven now and doesn’t get free kids meals anymore. She’s sick of the kids menu anyway and would rather just get a basket of fries, so she’s still cheap!

  8. You can’t beat there unlimited fries! The parmasean cheese and garlic are great. Love the scripture you have there! What fun, it does my heart good to see that cause I know how quickly they grow and are gone. My girls went to see Hannah movie too and loved it. Everyone makes fun of Alexis cause she is a Hannah fan.

  9. I must say that those “CUPCAKES LOOK DELICIOUS” Wish I had one right now.

  10. That’s fun that Alexis likes Hannah Montana! I like Miley’s music. I really like her new song, The Climb. When it comes on radio disney the girls get so excited and sing along with all their hearts. I am going to buy the cd when we get our next paycheck!

Jessica is a HUGE Jonas Brother’s fan. I like their music, too, but sometimes I think if I hear ‘Burning Up’ again I may scream.

I wish you could’ve joined us for cupcakes, Aunt Marlis!

  11. Wow! Lydia, you had a spectacular birthday! Congrats, and I must see some of the pictures you take with your camera. You have such an artistic eye; I am sure you will get loads of wonderful pictures.

Those balloon animals are way cool.
