My mom typed this out today in the “Who Am I” page. I am so proud that she is posting and it is a very timely poem so I bumped it up here for everyone to enjoy.
Come walk with me in the springtime, Past the apple blossoms fair. Their fragrance was made in Heaven and drifts slowly through the air. Trees are starting to bud again and daffodils are breaking sod. Songbirds grace us with melodies, singing their praises to God. Rivers are singing sweet songs again, Spring air is fresh and clean. Brilliant colors are exploding everywhere and the grass is turning green. I’m overwhelmed at Springs beauty and shall savor it in my heart. I thank my God in Heaven who is the Master of all art.~ Shirley Hile Powell

What would I do without my dearest friends? I can’t imagine life without them!! My life would be dull in color.
Karen gave me this pic, yesterday. I was excited to have it and of course I had to post it!!!!
The first time I met Karen we were instant soul friends. I can’t explain it. Something just clicked and it is forever. Mom D. had a party at her house. She had met Karen at their church and wanted to hook us up.
The first time we talked was on Mom D’s king size waterbed. We giggled and watched the olympics. It was a divine appointment. I think it was about 12 years ago. Since then we’ve laughed and laughed and cried a lot. I just couldn’t live without her.
Mary’s the kind of friend who knows what brand of paper towels and toilet paper you use and buys it for you when she sees it on sale!!! She takes note of things about you like that that other people would miss, take for granted or simply not care. Not Mary, she cares!! Maybe she keeps a list!!! Hehe!!
One day, a couple of weeks after I had Anjelia, Mary called. I was so overwhelmed and I couldn’t stop crying. About an hour or so later Mary showed up on my door step to help out. What a friend!!! I wouldn’t trade her for the whole world!! She’s a gift from heaven!
Another group of friends that are special to me is my Girls’ Night Out group. JoEllen, Amber, Brandi, Tracy, Karen H., Karen S., and Misty. Hopefully we’ll be getting together soon and I’ll post a pic. We are all so different, yet so much alike, too.
I have a friend. I sing louder. I smile bigger. I laugh harder. I pray more. I love better.
My mom’s sister, Aunt Marlis, e-mailed me some pictures of some of her newest artwork! Perfect timing to show off her stuff on my new blog!
She is the oldest of Grandma Vera’s six daughters!! We like to call her by her nickname, Tootsie.
I’ve always admired Tootsie’s strength as a woman and her zest for life. She’s enjoying her retirement at the lake and is busy taking care of her husband Richard. She makes the best brown gravy you’ll ever taste!!!
Tootsie uses acrylics mostly for her medium, but likes using watercolor and Gouache for backgrounds. She enjoys designing her own cards and we love receiving them! She is serving her second year as secretary of the Ozark Brush and Palette Club in Camdenton Mo. She is also a member of the Creative Arts Guild in Osage Beach, Mo.
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, “I used everything you gave me.”~Erma Bombeck

I have much to do today, but I wanted to post a little something. I read a quote this morning and it reminded me to live colorfully today.
Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens. Circumstances and situations do color life, but you…choose what the color will beâ€.

Welcome to my site. This has been a fun project to do! James was the brains behind the operation. He really does know a lot about computers and it has finally paid off for me!! I enjoyed “shopping” around and experimenting with different looks. I must say James was very patient. He changed lots of code and uploaded lots of images for me. We’ll be tinkering with it more as we go. Thanks, honey!!!
I hope you will keep coming back and checking in to see what’s going on. Please post your thoughts! I need the adult interaction!! I’ve never done a blog before, so we’ll see what happens.
