picture happy

I’m learning how to use my new camera and I am really enjoying it. I’ve put over 50 pics on my computer already!

The girls and I made the cake and they decorated it. It was a real big deal, especially to Jessica. She nearly went into full meltdown mode when Anjelia ate part of the H and the Y!

It’s been fun to play around with the different settings!

Sunday Carl and Tori babysat while James and I went out! We watched Cinderella Man and ate at Outback Steakhouse. Cinderella Man is a must see. It was definitely the best movie I’ve seen in a long, long time.

“The camera makes everyone a tourist in other people’s reality, and eventually in one’s own.”

  1. Great pics, Julie! I love the sepia one. It’s so cute how Jessica is so high strung. Poor kid. :-)

    Happy Birthyad!

  2. You know, I’m not sure what to make of that camera quote. Is that a good thing to be a tourist or not? Hmmm.

  3. I see James got the slide show thing up and running…very cool. I like the pix of Lydia as well, cute.

I enjoyed babysitting. Especially when Elaina and I were spending time together…I asked her why she wasn’t helping Tori and Lydia work on their room and she soberly informed me “I don’t really work”. When asked why she said, “I just don’t have to”. That night when it was time to brush teeth she looked at me, paste filled toothbrush in hand and said, “I don’t really brush my teeth”. She wasn’t happy when I said, “well you do now”. She’s a stinker. Between that and trying to convince me that her fairy wings actually flapped when she “flew” off the bed it was a very funny day.

  4. What marvelous friends. Thanks Carl & Tori. You guys are getting good at this blog thing. Keep up the good work for us, we’re all having a blast with your ingenuity. Got my painting done for the Mexico paint out. Punkie thinks it’s a blue ribbon winner. Now I need time to drive there to deliver it. Keep up the good work and pictures. We love you all. 5. I want a 5×7 of that picture of Lydia.

  6. I thought the tourist quote was interesting. I think it’s a good thing. I control what you tour! Hehe.

Elaina is so fun! Glad you enjoyed her, Carl. She’s probably a little spoiled. :)

Turning them into a gif to do the flash compromised the integrity of the photos a little. They lost a little clarity. Sometimes sacrifices must be made!

  7. I’d love to see a pic of the painting Tootsie!

  8. James, get back to work! šŸ˜‰

You know, if you want a 5X7 you need to get me the cute little picture printer!!!

    Sugar Daddy!

  9. Great pictures! I love the one of Lydia. She always takes great pictures and the sepia one really becomes her. You did a great job.

Glad your birthday was so fun! I will have to wish you and James Happy Birthyad each year from now on. The girls are going to get reeeally tired of it!

  10. I’ll send one to you when I get it back from the framer. Well, I can send one in a minute, but it’s not quite the same. I made some changes, and it’s much better. Marilyn thinks it’s a winner. She took the original pic for me.
Sugar Daddy???? Now you want the printer. Hey!!! You both are sweet. Aunt Tootsie

  11. I love the pic I took in the car. I’ve got a chunk of food in my teeth. No doubt leftover from the chinese restaurant. When the picture is full screen it’s hilarious. I used it anyway cuz it isn’t near as obvious when it’s little. Thought everyone would enjoy hunting for it. Please tell me if I have food stuck in my teeth. James said he’s so used to me having food in my teeth that he doesn’t notice anymore. They must be perfectly spaced so as to catch food.

  12. I really enjoy seeing your pic of the girls. That is a good one of Lydia too. Yes, I think Marlis’s pic she painted of Simmons Horse stable is a winner. They are trying to raise money to save the stables for a monument. Keep up the good work w/the camera Julie. James looked like he was deep in thought. Sounds like you had a great time.

  13. We were so excited to get away. When we were trying to get on the highway and out of our little town we were backed up in traffic. It’s a common problem where we live because of all the truck stops. That is why James looks like that!

  14. I am looking forward to seeing this awesome painting! I’ve seen the preview and it looks really good!

  15. Hey, I found the chunk of food in your teeth!!!! I hereby promise, Julie, that I will always tell you if I see food stuck in your teeth (if you will tell me when I do–I got the same problem! Must be the genes. If you ever eat out with us, and see Steve and I grinning real big at each other afterwards, it’s not just because we’re deliriously happy in love. It’s tooth check time! Aaaww–the romance of it all! ha)

  16. Oh great, my OCD is kicking in and that misspelling above is driving me crazy. It’s supposed to say “MUST be in the genes! I know, I know, it doesn’t matter.

It’s late–and I’m supposed to be packing for our trip, but I had to check your blog one last time before we unplug the computer! BYE

  17. Alright little miss I fixed it! You’re hilarious Deb. Wish we were going on a trip. Have a blast!

  18. Our Julie is so much fun!!! Again she is perfect for our Son. We prayed for a good wife for him when he was only three years old. She is God sent! The best part of her love for him is ” Don’t touch my man or I am in your face.”

  19. Better be careful or you’re going to puff me up!

I am thankful to have a mother-in-law that does nothing but encourage me. I can’t think of a single time you’ve ever been negative to me or critical of me. I hope I can be such a good daughter-in-law.

  20. Awesome pics, Julie! Keep up the good work. I am enjoying seeing the photos on your blog!! Love the one of Lydia! She is soooo photogenic.
