pumpkin patch

Jules —  October 28, 2005

Wednesday, my sister and I and three of our kiddos, visited one of the best pumpkin patches around! Some of the activities we participated in included: hay slides, the petting zoo, the train, hayride to the pumpkin field, corn and hay mazes, snack bar for pumpkin donuts, and the trike trail. We spent three hours of fun enjoying our littler ones. (The big kids were in school.)

Elaina was incredibly proud of the pumpkin she chose! She tried her hardest to carry it all the way back to the wagon by herself!

Anjelia and my nephew Elan

It’s virtually impossible to get two year olds to look at the camera! They are so cute together. Elan was very proud of his bus that Beth bought him in the gift shop!

Doesn’t she look sweet. . . . She was very tired at this point. Just before I took this pic, she threw that pumpkin down and kicked it as hard as she could and yelled, “NO!”. Oh the stories pictures don’t tell!! I did manage to get a sweet pic!

  1. I’m so jealous…that’s one thing we wanted to try to do this year, go to a real pumpkin patch, and it just didn’t work out. I’m happy you guys got to go…great pics!

  2. I am taking Ian to the “pumpkin Patch this year on Sat. Ian loves the hayrides and the pony rides and of course they hay maze.
I hope he enjoys it this year. Hey its free and fun……

  3. “I have spent a lifetime preparing for a lifetime”.
I think being a single mother is very hard. I sometimes want to throw in the towel!!!

  4. I feel that way sometimes and I have help! I know it must be really hard.

I hope you and Ian have a wonderful day at the pumpkin patch!

You’ll have to do it next year Carl. I think it’d be more fun if you had little ones. Maybe you should come with us!

  5. Adorable pics, Jules. You had such a beautiful day for it.

Is Kandi coming back for the Hay Ride tomorrow? I hope so.

Kandi, I don’t know how you do it. . .being a single Mom. I would throw in the towel I think, well, probably not. God really does somehow give us the grace we need for whatever faces us!

  6. Oh, I dont have it bad. I have a loving family. There are lots of single mom’s and dad’s out there worse off than me.
I just want something to go my way for once.
I am getting tired of keeping my nose just above water. I am getting weak.
I have prayed a lot this week. I am just feeling sorry for myself………

  7. I think we could probably all relate to that. I know I do Kandi. Know I’ll be praying for you.

Did you get my e-mail about the hayride? I’ll call you soon if I don’t hear back.

  8. Oops, sorry Kandi. You already sent the e-mail!

  9. I don’t think they anything like this when Kandi was small. If so, I never knew about it. It looks like a fun thing to do. I feel bad that I can’t do more for Kandi. It really makes me feel bad when she feels bad. :cry

  10. So is she comin’??

  11. Oh Goody!!!

  12. That sounded like a 4 year old! I meant to say. “Great, I am so glad she’ll be able to make it.”

  13. It sounded like something I’d say…

We will miss them. She called and has decided to do their original plans. I totally understand. She’s been away from home for two weekends in a row.

  14. I actually wanted to ask you guys last weekend if you wanted to do it but the weather wasn’t cooperative for anything really. Mary’s Tarts had fun carving pumpkins tonight, it was a first time for all I believe…at least the first time they tried doing elaborate ones with patterns. I took a bunch of pics with Nick’s digital camera and will post them sometime on Sunday. I have plenty of extra carving kits if you guys need some for yours…I can bring some to church on Sunday. Let me know. -C

  15. Seems like there are so many new kinds of things to take the kids to these days. I thing Deb & Trish would have enjoyed it. At least they can take their kidos to them now. We went to an Apple farm, with pumpkins when we were at Deb’s house last week. We took Gma Vera too and she really enjoyed it. Air was a little chilly though. Kandi hang in there you don’t know what God may have in store for you just around the corner. Just seek His will, and trust in Him. I was wanting to help Gil drive home from our trip the other day, & it was my turn to drive again, but I wasn’t feeling very peppy & had a headache. I started praying, quietly, “Lord, I really, really need your help here.” I drove for about 2 hrs. and felt fine. :worship Isn’t He just wonderful.
