Word cloud

Thanks to Sarah at Cool Cucumber, I’ve discovered Snapshots. This website will scan your blog and build a word cloud using your most frequently used words. The larger and bolded words add extra emphasis to those words that are used most often. Very cool. I could purchase a t-shirt from them with my word cloud on the front. Tempting, but I appreciate the use of the word cloud for my site.

I love the words that were selected. I believe they are a true reflection of my life. Just reading them made my heart smile real big!!

Birthday Announcements!

Yesterday was my Grandma Vera’s 81st birthday. I didn’t have the pleasure of growing up near my Grandma, but I always looked forward to seeing her on traveling visits. One of my best childhood memories of Grandma was a visit we went on to see her in Nebraska. I absolutely loved garage saling when I was a kid. My main objective was to find as many stuffed animals as possible. My mom would often tell me, “No more stuffed animals!”. I totally didn’t get why my mom would have a problem with me getting more. It just didn’t make sense to me. (Now I completely understand and I often tell my own girls the same thing!) We went garage saling with Grandma and she let me pick out whatever stuffed animals I wanted!!! If I remember correctly, she let me get quite a few. I thought I’d died and gone to heaven!! We took them back to her house and she spent the afternoon washing them for me and getting them into tip top shape! I remember her brushing their hair. I’ve always treasured that memory. I felt very special that day. Happy Birthday, Grandma!

My Dad-In-Law, Richard, celebrated his birthday this week, as well. Unfortunately he’s been very sick. Dad D has been a big support to James and I over the years. James often calls him for advice, as he has helped James get his business up and running. He’s been able to help provide us the wonderful opportunity to be self-employed. I know it’s going to pay off big someday! Richard is a good man and I am very honored to have married into his family. I am proud to have the family name!!

  1. Happy Birthday Grandma and Dad!

  2. Happy Birthday, Gma Vera and Mr. D! :birthday
We’re leaving soon to head to Kelli’s to celebrate Gma’s bday and watch the game and chow down on chili and Kelli’s homemade french fries!

Julie, the word cloud is so cool! It’s definitely a beautiful word picture of your world and your conversations. It made me wonder if it were possible to scan my speech what words would show up most. I’m sure my boys would say that the words “No” and “I’ve had ENOUGH of that, guys!!” would show up way more than it should. The Bible says we will one day be accountable for our words. Do you think God will have a word cloud for us on Judgement Day? :eek

  3. Why did the words “Old One” show up so much?

  4. They’re in alphabetical order. So it wasn’t the phrase “old one” that showed up a lot. Just the individual words old and one!!! hehe!!!

Have a great time tonight! It sounds like fun! We are hanging out at home for the day!

  5. Mama :birthday, It sounded like you all were really having a big ole time when I called. Talked to Kathy the second time I called, that was nice. Don’t get to talk to the litte stinker very often. Hope the rest of the evening was filled with lots of LOVE and gifts.

Richard :birthday to you too and many more.

Jules, that WORD CLOUD is really cool. :cool

Deb, a word cloud on Judgement day? Something we had better be prepared for it sounds to me like.
You might have something there. :eek

  6. Happy Birthday Richard and Julie’s Grandma!!!

Did it take long to get your word cloud?? I did mine a few days ago and have never gotten it. Should it take this long? :cry

  7. I liked how my name was right next to yours in the cloud!

  8. I tried to do it the other day and it wouldn’t work for me. I tried it today and it only took a few seconds. Copy and paste your whole address (make sure http is part of it). It should show up right away. Just wait a few seconds, then right click and save picture as.

I liked it that our names were together too! :love

  9. I can’t believe that barf or puke didn’t show up after the up chuckin’ conversation. I guess we mostly used the :puke symbol!

  10. Punky looks like the AUNTS came in quite influential with a 2nd place showing. Yeh!!! 😀

I know the words came in alphabetical order. Let us revel for awhile, thinking we rate up there. Hee Hee. :worship

  11. I was hoping for something funny like that! I think your right. Too much icon use!!

The Aunts do rank right up there!

Interesting timing. Speaking of words…. here are some scriptures I read this morning on the very subject.

    Prov 12:14 AMP
From the fruit of his words a man shall be satisfied with good, and the work of a man’s hands shall come back to him [as a harvest].

    1 Peter 4:11 NKJV
If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God.

    James 3:7-10 NLT
People can tame all kinds of animals and birds and reptiles and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is an uncontrollable evil, full of deadly poison. Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it breaks out into curses against those who have been made in the image of God. And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right

    Eph 4:29-32 AMP
Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [do not offend or vex or sadden Him], by Whom you were sealed (marked, branded as God’s own, secured) for the day of redemption (of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin). Let all bitterness and indignation and wrath (passion, rage, bad temper) and resentment (anger, animosity) and quarreling (brawling, clamor, contention) and slander (evil-speaking, abusive or blasphemous language) be banished from you, with all malice (spite, ill will, or baseness of any kind). And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you.

  12. Too much Icon use!!! Punky I think she’s trying to tell us something. Boy, we did’nt get too revel very long :cry :(

  13. Happy no.63 to Richard, you sure don’t look near that old. :evil

  14. Aunt Marlis, I’m thinking Julie’s comment “too much icon use” was referring to my comment about the :puke symbol (that’s why barf didn’t show up in the word cloud after our up chuckin’ conversation).

  15. Deb, I know, I’m just giving Jules a hard time. Got to have some fun. Thanks for the email Deb, made me feel good that they were happy about you know what. It was your idea, glad I took it.

  16. Happy Birthday Grandma and Richard! I’m sure your grandmother is wonderful and I know for a fact that Richard is so best wishes and blessings to you both!

  17. Aunt Tootsie, 0ooops, guess my sense of humor checked out for a minute :oops You just icon away, girl!!! :fish

  18. Love the “word cloud,” but some of them are to small to read on my computer. Couldn’t even see the ones Deb was talking about. I think Nieces rank pretty high too along with Daughters. I am thrilled to be an Aunt to my sweet nieces. I wonder what words would show up in my cloud too. Hummmmm. Marlis, I we will just have to hold our ground & hang on to our pedestals.

Our study last night at church was about the tongue. We were studying in James. :birthday :birthday :birthday

  19. Ops, The word, think, jumped off the page after, Marlis, I think, is what it should have read. Haven’t been posting much lately because my mind is on vacation and I don’t know when it will return. :fish

  20. You’ll probably feel more “with it” after Dad’s surgery, Mom. Hang in there :love (virtual hug)

  21. Happy Birthday, Richard!

And a very happy 81st to Julie’s grandma!

  22. I love your word cloud! Words like together, good; very positive… Also more diverse than the one on my blog.
