***SPOILER WARNING*** Don’t let Grandma Vera read this!

Here I am sitting in our new ’99 Suburban while wearing my new hat! I am ready for our visit to the Sweet South!! I don’t think my hat is pulled down on my head like it’s supposed to be. You get the picture, though!

We have a very humorous family, I’m glad. Am looking forward to seeing all you witty people.

Julie, I just love your pic on this blog. Should be made into a calendar for James. I want my pic take just like it. Of course there’s no chance it will be as cute as yours. :cry

  3. You’re a cutie, Punky!

Glad that Richard will be well cared for while you’re gone.

Mom called this morning to tell me they were on their way!

  4. Yeah, I talked with Uncle Larry last night–he said they planned to leave at 4 am so they will be here in good time! (He called because he had some things in their barn he thought we might want!)

  5. They didn’t leave as early as they wanted to. Mom called me around 6:30 to tell me they were on the road.

  6. They’re HERE! Aunt Nita and Uncle Larry are resting at the motel. She’s gonna call Gma to just chat (like she’s calling from home) and then they’re going out there to surprise her at dinnertime when Kelli gets home from work. I made Aunt Nita promise that she won’t tell about the rest of y’all coming! I told her that she’d have a lot of mad people on her. She just giggled and said she’s keeping the secret!

  7. Aunt Marilyn May 9, 2006 at 8:01 pm

I sure would like to be there to see her suprise.
Keep safe out there you all. :rolleyes

  8. Gma was SURPRISED–they got in on tape! She just stood at the door for a minute and said…”I JUST talked to you on the phone…and HERE YOU ARE!” She said she just couldn’t believe it!

This is Sooooooo much fun! :indeed Can’t wait for y’all to get here!

  9. Thanks for the update, I was afraid us out here in cyber space would be forgotten. I can just see the look of suprise on her face. Well 1 down and many more to go. Is Scott there yet? :flowers

  10. Mom, Scott’s not here yet–haven’t heard which day he’s coming in. You must be the only one already packed. Where is everyone else? Both Julie and Kandi’s blog have been quiet today–everyone must be busy doing laundry and packing.

Everyone, watch the weather. I’ve heard a cooler front may be coming through so pack accordingly. And pray for warm dry weather. Otherwise we’re gonna have a lot of insane people trapped inside (50 total, 18 of which are kids ages 4 months-18 years!!!)
I figured families with kids may want to come to my house during the day on Saturday to play or we could head to McDonald’s play land or the roller rink! OR us girls can go shopping and let the dads fend for themselves with the kids. :rotfl Did I say that outloud?! Probably just wishful thinking! πŸ˜‰

  11. Lord just don’t let it rain :worship,PLEASE DON”T LET IT RAIN :cry

  12. Is that a touch of panic I hear in that prayer, Aunt Tootsie? πŸ˜€

  13. So who’s getting here next? Trish’s and Julie’s families will be traveling tomorrow.

I didn’t catch when the northern crew is getting here. How about it, Uncle Butch? When’s arrival day? We need to have those chocolate coffee beans ready for you–oops I mean peanuts!! :fish

  14. Well, James just got home. I’ve been packing all day while dealing with very excited children. We’re trying to load all the stuff now! I sure hope it’s not nasty so the kids can play outside. I am praying for good weather, but most of all I am praying for health, safety and a special blessing for each person that comes and that Grandma is encouraged and honored and delighted by her surprise.

May God be glorified and may our time together be a special blessing for one and all.

  15. oh and we’re leaving in the morning!

  16. Kinda sounds like it, does’nt it? :eek 18 kids you say? :rolleyes OK,PLEASE DEAR PRECIOUS GOD, DON’T LET IT RAIN. :cry

  17. Amen Julie!

and Amen, Aunt Marlis. If it helps, several of those kids ARE nearly adults! Well, that would make them teen-agers. I don’t think I’m helping here! πŸ˜€ It’ll be fine, really! :rotfl

  18. I know, I’m just kidding. I do hope it stays nice and at least does not rain, you must admit, we don’t want it raining on our PARADE πŸ˜€ See ya’s tomorrow. What a sweet sound, see ya’s tomorrow πŸ˜€

  22. Hurry up and get here! We can’t wait to see y’all too! Trish and family surprised me and arrived this morning–I was expecting them late tonite. Good surprise! They were tired out so are going to see Gma tomorrow morning.

And Julie and family arrived tonite about 6 pm. They went on out to Gma’s tonite. I’m sure Gma’s so excited to get to see so many that she loves!

We’ll be watching for y’all tomorrow. Yee Haw–let’s get this party rollin’

  23. Well, I miss our Julie and James and girls. I guess just knowing they are so far away makes me miss them even more. I have gone days not stoping by,but just knowing they are gone makes me miss them!!!! :(So very glad they got away to see such a loving and close family. :love
    Julie is truly blessed. :indeed

  24. the house is so quiet :cry. I miss you all so much. Your smiling faces and kids playing and great food. I prayed all return home safe and of sound mind. I’m grateful for the sacrifices some made to leave other family members and I know Grandma Vera will always treasure this time together. Moma has a great group of daughters but we also have such great kids! Jared’s gift and Justin’s gift and Erin’s cookies and just all the wonderful blessings we have is overwhelming. Get home safe and log on to let us all know how it went on the way home. I love you all very much.

We had such a good time of giggling, talking, giggling, posing for pics, giggling, eating, giggling. What a wonderful time. And Grandma just sparkled ALL weekend. This was so special for her and it was so wonderful for all of you to make that long drive. We’ll be praying you home!
:cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry
    I miss you all already!!!

  26. Gil, Kandi, Marlis, & I got back to home at about 4:45 p.m. Then they each made it to their homes safely. Marlis & Kandi did most of the driving. They are tired Angels. Like Deb says, there was lots of giggles. It was a wonderful time. Nita & Larry were under the weather some, so hope they make it home feeling OK. According to the weather it was supposed to be rainy, cool, and cloudy all week-end but God smiled on us and it was nearly perfect. Thank you Lord. :worship :worship

  27. We got home about 11:15 tonight. It was a good ride home. I just finished pre-treating all the girls’ clothes. You can tell how much fun a kid had by the size of the grass stains!!

I miss all of you terribly.

    I’ll try to post tommorrow!!!!!!

We missed you on Mother’s Day, Mom D. :flowers

    Aunt Linda, :love.

I miss all of you too!! I had a WONDERFUL timeand am glad I did not miss a single door slam :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl REALLY. I’m used to a lot of quiet, and no company, but thru it all I would not have missed seeing my sis’s, nieces and nephews and the same of Greats. I marveled at having my SWEET DAUGHTER for 4 whole days, and most of all seeing the BESTED MAMA in the whole world. I was so tired :eek I know I looked like this most of the time. BUT MOST OF ALL KELLI AND ALEX AND GIRLS FOR LETTING US INVADE YOUR LOVING HOME AND PUTTING UP WITH US NITWITS AND NOISE. YOUR TO BE PRAISED FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY. THANK YOU :worship :worship :worship I pray all the rest of the family get home safe. Tank you everyone for the lovey gifts. I don’t think any mother in our family could have a better MOTHERS DAY. Alex, thank you for your church family, and church, may GOD continue to shine there and be praised as I felt this weekend. I love all of you, and yours. I pray that all families could share :love and :rotfl as ours. I want a nose, Steve.

  29. I’m not sure what to do with the nose pictures. I guess I could email them to all of you and let you guess who’s who. I think they all look alike from the front. πŸ˜€

  33. E-mail the nose pictures and I’ll do a post!!!!!

Lydia and Jessica were eager to go to school. They had pictures in hand of all their family to show off. Today is baseball day and they will be eating hot dogs and playing most of the day. Jessica wept for a good hour after we left Sunday night. We went to wal-mart and bought her a photo album and printed her off some pictures that night. That seemed to really help comfort her. My heart really went out to her. She really didn’t want to leave her new friends. Especially Alexis who did her make-up and gave her make-up to take home. That was a really really big deal to Jessica!!! We’ll have to come back again soon.

  34. Deb made sure we all had yellow roses for our rooms. Such a nice touch! I thank her again & Trish for my gifts for Mothers day, and especially the one “of being with them”, being able to give & recieve a real hug, in person. Mom just GLOWED all the time we were there. Not sure she is glowing today, she is probably still asleep, covered with the beautiful quilt Nita made for her. She will wake up to the Life like picture Marlis painted for her of her and her guitar. Then she can go into the kitchen and use her Cappi…(fancy coffee machine)and look at her pictures of the week-end, and other gifts she got. I’m not sure I saw them all so forgive me. Someone else can fill in the blanks. The kiddos sure enjoyed playing together, doing the limbo, making HUGH bubbles, painting, etc. Sarah got her ears pierced, she was so brave but she wanted to do it. No tears. Well, maybe Mama. Us 6 girls took Mom out to eat, just the 7 of us, that was really enjoyable and think Mom appreciated it. We told her all the things she didn’t know and isn’t able to spank us for now. The picture taking was fun trying to get that many people outside at the same time and in groups but we got’er done. :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

I will be reliving this trip all week, it’s going to take that long to edit, name and sort out this whole trip and print of course some to frame. :eek

  36. Jules, I sent the nose pictures out as an email to everyone. Mom is the declared winner already!!! But feel free to post it on your blog if you want–it might make comparing them easier–but they’re kind of blurry after I cropped them.
Nobody NOSE the trouble I’ve seen! :rotfl

  37. Hey guys , ya’ll are just buzzing, it was a wonderous week- end was’nt it.I can’t wait to see the new post Jules has for us . Be sure to pray for Linda, shes having a hard time and needs alot of strength. LOVE andMISS YOU ALL !

  38. O.K. guys,I hate to toot my own presious sons horn BUT I see no mention of Justin’s contribution of the pretty little lamb or Jared’s thoughtful gifts, he thought of that on his own for the aunties and Justin did too :worship , OH, I guesss I am tooting their horns TOOT- TOOT , πŸ˜€ love and miss you all terribly!! later lovey’s remember Linda :cry

  39. What were Jared’s gifts?

There’s a picture of the lamb in the gallery. Yes, go to my gallery to the folder Mother’s Day reunion 2006. It’s full of pictures. Click on the word gallery to the right under Pages.

  40. Kathryn, before you get your feathers too ruffled, scroll up further–Kelli DID mention Justin and Jared’s gifts. You’re such a little tootie!!! πŸ˜€

  41. toot toot tootsie May 16, 2006 at 12:05 pm

There were so many gifts from everyone, and theres a lot to be said yet. I think we are still waking up and or getting rested. I know that KiKis parents deserve a REAL BIG :worship thank you for the Lamb and Wine that was sacrificed to our family also, and the guys who slaved over the meats, and putting it together. So many to thank. BUT it will be done. I think a card to Kikis family would be nice. If Kathy would email, not blog, but email us their address, we could send them our thanks also. It was all so awlsome, and it took all of us and many of the inlaws to get us together and have so much fun. πŸ˜‰

  42. Yes, something different about the cho. covered beans of Jared’s they were really good, I think there was less bean in them. The bread & coffee was the rest of his gift. I thought it was so sweet of him and Sarah to bring them to us. I also liked the lamb, it wasn’t greasy like some I’ve had, it was real good as was the beef and chicken. All the other food was good too. Arins cho. chip cookies, mmmmmmmm!!!! It was just all perfect the whole weekend. Everyone did a part and it fell together GREAT!!!!! :indeed :worship :rolleyes :love

  43. Oh thank you Jared!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :flowers What a cutie and a sweetie!
